The picture above is in Face Canyon, the prettiest slot I've found in 10yrs of exploration.  You can find the location of this slot canyon  using our Lake Powell map section that includes FACE CANYON.  The map shows two little magenta dots about 1mi SE of DOS DUNES where you can explore  two slots canyons.   When you locate these dots on the map, this picture above is the dot to the west.   The main canyon entrance is at N36°59.124'  W 111°14.309'.  It's easiest to explore these canyon when the water elevation is 3682' or lower.   This particular slot canyon you will have to swim about 200' if you're in a boat.  Make sure to wear life jackets and water socks.  PWC can get further back, reducing the swim, sometimes down to only a short wade.

The other slot canyon nearby (dot to the east on the above map link) can be accessed easier by boat.  It's also higher, allowing exploration at water elevation up to about 3687' water elevation.  I call this canyon (not shown) the "PEA TRAP" because it reminds me of a plumbing pea trap.  You'll understand why when you see the end.
