Hemenway paved launch ramp, next to Las Vegas Boat Harbor

Hemenway launch ramp is a paved ramp and very close to the Alan Bible visitors center just outside Boulder City.   When you arrive there's a sign that says PWC launching, left.  But don't go there unless you have a 4WD vehicle and don't mind getting your vehicle wet.  The angle of the gravel launch area is very flat, not a good idea.  It's OK to launch PWC on this nice cement ramp, although the sign implies differently.

As of Oct 2010 the Hemenway ramp is very flat, difficult to launch PWC and Boats unless you have a long trailer or a raised vehicle.  If you're in a production height small SUV, car or even some truck, be careful about how far you back into the water.  Many people are forgettting how deep their car is and accidentally opening the door, letting water into their car.  This can be costly, potentially damaging to the car, not to mention if not addressed this can cause mold and long term smells inside the car.

Boulder City offer motels close by, but gambling is illegal there if that's important to you.   Henderson is the closest town to Lake Mead with Gambling casinos.

Echo Bay Launch Ramp

Echo Bay Marina is a remote location, the farthest away of the western side marinas.  The beauty of this location is less people.  It can be worth driving the extra 24 miles past Callville Bay Marina to the NE if you like peace and quite.

Callville Bay Launch Ramp

Callville's launch ramp was replaced June 2010 with this smaller ramp.  Good for about 3 vehicles wide, it can be busy during peak season.  The trailer parking lot is also small so be prepared for a long walk to the upper lot during peak season. Make sure to call ahead for marina services, as a flash flood Oct 2010 practically wiped out all services at the marina, including gas service. Its likely rental boats will not be available for a while.
