Boxcar Canyon is a popular place for primitive beachfront camping.   Located between Las Vegas Bay Marina and Callville Bay marina it provides good proximity to marinas by water for supplies.  As you can barely see in this picture there are no provisions at Boxcar (other than a smelly porta-potty, pew-wee).   There's a dirt launch area but it doesn't have much angle to launch boats.  Don't expect to launch big craft, only PWC and light fishing boats should be launched.  Callville Bay marina is about 5 miles by water to the east.  Boxcar has a wakeless zone close to shore, so this makes it safe for swimmers as you can see in this picture.

Stewart's Point dirt launch and camping area

This is a quaint launch area where shoreline camping is popular.  The ramp is dirt and there isn't much of an incline to launch boats.   You will find it may be difficult launching big boats without submerging your car.   Light fishing boats and PWC are OK to launch with a little muscle.  Stewart's point is somewhat secluded, so there are less people on this part of the lake.  It's about 7 miles north of Echo Bay (by water) and about 5 miles south of Overton marina.   If you like primitive beach front camping this is a good place to check out.

Hemenway paved launch ramp

Hemenway launch ramp has been popular due to Gold Strike Hotel being close by.  It's a paved ramp and very close to the Alan Bible visitors center just outside Boulder City.   Boulder City has a few little motels, but gambling is illegal there if that's important to you.  Most have found the "Reserve Hotel and Casino" to be the best accommodations available nearby in Henderson.  Since the Reserve Hotel is closest to Las Vegas Bay marina you may never want to visit Hemenway again. 

Kingman Wash dirt launch ramp

King Wash is a dirt and gravel launch ramp that is popular to light boaters and PWC.   It's located about 3 miles from Hoover Dam (by water) on the Arizona side.  For visitors from Arizona this is a convenient ramp if you don't mind the dirt parking lot.  As you can see there are NO amenities other than a porta-potty, so bring everything.

Government Wash paved launch ramp and camping area

Government Wash ramp is close to the city of Henderson and just across the bay from Las Vegas Bay marina.   Although the ramp is paved, along with restrooms, there are no other provisions.  As you can see many people camp along the shoreline for free.  Las Vegas Bay marina is close by to get gas, ice, and food, which makes this location so attractive to many weekend warriors.   With the nearby marina Government Wash can get quite busy on weekends.    Be extra careful with all the PWC zipping around.
