Overton Arm, Virgin Basin, and Temple Basin are very nice recreational areas.  This part of the lake is much less crowded than the Boulder Basin and offers a variety of beaches and coves for camping.  If you plan to spend more than a weekend, the extra hour drive to launch or stay in these areas will be worth it.

Three good marinas support the area.  Echo Bay Marina has a lodge and good restaurant for those who don't like to camp or cook.  Although a little longer drive, I recommend you try Echo Bay if you haven't been there yet.   

Temple Bar is far removed from the Las Vegas crowd which make the area much quieter than Boulder Basin.   If you're driving from Phoenix the easy access makes Temple Bar the place to go, avoiding Las Vegas visitors, not to mention the potential traffic crossing the Dam on Highway 93.  Temple Bar offers all the basics..... a marina, restaurant, lodge, and store.  No cellphone service exists in this area, but payphones are available at the marina.

Overton Bay Marina is also a real nice area, somewhat isolated from the masses of California, this is another place for peace and quiet.  This is the newest marina on the lake and the only location on Lake Mead that offers beach front full hookup campsites..... so you can run that air conditioner at night, and see your boat anchored in the water conveniently from your campsite.
