| Nelson's Landing is on the Nevada side of Lake Mohave, about 16 miles north of Cottonwood Cove by water.
Although there is no launch ramp, there is a paved road that takes you within a
half mile of the lake, then it turns into a dirt road and continues to the lake
edge (below). Nelson's landing is about 25 miles from
Boulder City by road.
As you go north from Nelson's landing there are some beautiful canyons to
enjoy. Fishing is good
and the high mountain walls protect the water from potential wind to insure
smooth water for PWC and water skiing. Beware, skiing is limited in
northern areas of the river. As you travel north there is a sign posted
"NO WATER SKIING" is allowed as you continue up river.
But you can use PWC or any kind of boat to site see or fish. This sign is
near Chalk Cliffs approximately
3 miles north of Nelson's Landing, or about 7 miles north of where the power
lines cross at Aztec Wash. See our
