Lake Mead Marina (702) 293-3484
Lake Mead Marina is located on Hwy 166, about 6
miles north of Boulder City. This marina has all the amenities you
need for a great time at Lake Mead. Their friendly people and a clean environment
will make your visit memorable. They have a very good marina store with
almost anything you'd want along with the amenities listed below.

Overnight mooring of your boat is available for
$17/night. No reservations are taken, but there's usually always room for
your boat, tied up almost anywhere. If you arrive after hours just pay
them in the morning. Make sure you have adequate fenders to protect your
boat, as some of these slips are quite old. PWC are more vulnerable to get
damaged on these docks, so be careful when tying up.

Above you can see their selection of PWC, fishing
boats, and ski boats. They do not rent houseboats from this
marina. If you're interested in renting a 3-man SeaDoo, this is the
only place on Lake Mead that has them. The only problem is they will tell
you that you can only ride 2 people on them. If you ask why they
will say it's a national park regulation. I checked
with the NPS and there
is no such regulation. So as far as we can tell there is nothing to
keep you from staying within the law if you want to go "3-up" on these
3-man GTS SeaDoos. Make sure you have a life jacket for the third person because the
rental agreement will only provide you with 2 jackets.
You can reserve boats at
www.canyon-country.com/mead

Just outside the marina restaurant you'll find this
great patio deck above, fully covered for great shade. Lots of chairs
outside allow you to kick back and relax with a drink.
Warning.... if you want to
eat at the marina restaurant, don't expect much. I suggest you keep it
simple, i.e. burgers, fries, etc. Don't order the steaks, ribs, or chicken, and
FYI the vegetables are fresh from the can via microwave.

From the patio you'll have this beautiful view of the
marina. You'll notice this marina has a high percentage
of sailboats moored. Does that tell you anything? Yes, wind
is quite common in this part of the lake, Boulder Basin.
This is the only marina on Lake Mead that accommodates launching sailboats with
a launch hoist at the ramp.

The kids will be
amused by hundreds of big fish at the docks of Lake Mead Marina. These
guys love to eat any leftovers you can toss them. |
