You can take advantage of the economy slump and sail into a Powell vacation adventure that keeps on giving, year after year.  You will be the envy of anyone you invite along.  There is no better way to see Grand Canyon country than by water, exploring caves, slot canyons and endless glassy water, over 1900 shoreline miles.  Ask anyone that owns a share in a Powell houseboat, they'll tell you it's a great value, a lot less money than renting and more convenient.

Problems with rental houseboats are:

1.  You get what you get, minimal amenities in many models
2.  You have to bring more stuff with you, spices, plastic-ware, bowls, towels, etc.
3.  You will quickly learn you'll need to beach your rental houseboat near a marina to get fuel for your toys.  There are no gas cans are allowed on rental boats and they don't have fuel stations like the Antigua.  You will save $1/gal by pumping PWC and Ski Boats full from Antiqua's fuel station.
4.  Boats in the same class as Antigua cost $10K/wk to rent, and they still aren't as nice or convenient as Antigua.
5.  Antiqua is practically a new houseboat, rentals are very used.
6.  You have to haul a lot of stuff, walking hundreds of yards, back and forth to the rental docks.  It can be 95 to 100 degrees during the summer, this is grueling work and you're suppose to be on vacation.  With Antigua you can pull up NEXT TO THE BOAT at dri-dock and load all your gear and food, quick and easy. The boat launches the next morning will all your stuff ready to use.  Same with unloading, simple, safe and easy..... unlike rentals.
7. With Antigua your fuel tanks are filled in the town of Page, ~$1/gal less than marina fuel.
